The Inauguration Ceremony of the Center for Narrative Medicine at PKUHSC

    

 

   The Inauguration Ceremony of the Center for Narrative Medicine at Peking University Health Science Center (PKUHSC) was held on April 15th, marking another milestone for PKUHSC as the leading institution for the research, teaching, and practice of narrative medicine in China. 

  

   Prof. Zhou Cheng, dean of the School of Health Humanities at Peking University, expressed his welcoming gratitude to all the experts present. 

    

   Prof. Guo Liping, director of the Center for Narrative Medicine at PKUHSC, introduced the Center for Narrative Medicine at PKUHSC.

    

   Prof. Qiao Jie, member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, foreign member of the American Academy of Humanities and Sciences, executive Vice President of PKUHSC and President of Peking University Third Hospital, shared her moving stories in the fight against Covid-19.

    

   Prof. Liu Yucun, Executive Deputy Secretary of Communist Party of China Peking University Committee and Secretary of CPC PKUHSC Committee, also told his story and spoke highly on the potentials of narrative in medical context. 

    

   Prof. Han Qide, former president of the PKUHSC, former vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and former vice chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, commented on the history of narrative medicine in China and its significance. He also suggested directions for future developments of the Center for Narrative Medicine at PKUHSC.

    

   The inauguration ceremony was followed by a seminar on Narrative Medicine.
