Content Overview:

   Different from macro researches on International Relations and monographic studies on International Politics, Diplomacy is concerned with working methods and skills of diplomats. There are abundant knowledge systems including diplomatic theories, conventions, authorities and personnel, privileges and immunities, forms, negotiations, international organizations, multilateral diplomacy, documents, languages and etiquette etc. Diplomacy is an effective tool for a country to maneuver among international political areas at the lowest cost. Art of diplomacy will play an irreplaceable role to fulfill the great rejuvenation of Chinese nation and establish human community with a shared future.

   Doctor of Laws of School of International Studies, Peking University, Director and Associate professor of Diplomacy Section of Department of Diplomacy and Foreign Affairs Management, China Foreign Affairs University, Master supervisor, Chairman of Research Center for Contemporary Chinese Diplomacy, Vice and Executive Director of National Youth Diplomacy Research Center, and Researcher of Research Center for Beijing International Exchanges and Foreign Affairs Administration. 

   Dr. Fan has been engaged in teaching and researches of Sino-US relations, diplomacy and diplomatic history and in charge of teaching many courses including Introduction of Diplomacy, Selected Readings of Diplomatic Classics, Research on Sino-US Relations, Research Methodology and Specialized English etc. He has published academic monographs, including: Cooperation and Reciprocity: Sino-US relationship in the honeymoon stage. He has conducted Research on New China’s Peripheral Security Strategy and Sino-US Relations (1977-1989), which is funded by the National Social Science Project for Youth (Project NO. 18CGJ032). He was a visiting scholar at the Elliott School of International Affairs, George Washington University during 2011 to 2012.
