Lecture Title: Stepping out of the shadow of perfectionism: Understanding, Acceptance, and Healing
Abstract:
This talk aims to take a deeper look at perfectionism, a multifaceted psychological phenomenon, and reveal its dual role as a source of excellence and stress. This paper will explore the origin and manifestation of perfectionism in modern society from a psychological perspective, as well as the potential impact of family environment on individual mental health. The presentation will analyze the psychological conflict caused by perfectionism and its connection to stress, anxiety, and other psychological disorders. The focus is on strategies for identifying and coping with perfectionism challenges, including treatments such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), humanistic acceptance, and ambivalence, which help promote individual self-understanding and acceptance while developing more flexible and effective approaches to goal setting.
